The Kent Finals started well, with beautiful weather and no traffic problems, thankfully.
The 1st semi final between Tenterden and Sundridge Park was a tense affair, with everyone waiting for the last match to come in, Kitty Wilson (Tenterden) battled against Sandy Charlick, (Sundridge Park) and Sandy won, giving Sundridge a narrow victory 4/3.
In the second semi final Westerham pitted their wits against West Malling, this also so was a nail-biting affair, with Sharon White for Westerham winning the final game and taking the spoils 4/3.
Sundridge won the toss for the afternoons final against Westerham.
They elected to Tee off first.
Westerham were soon in their stride, giving Sundridge Park a very steep hill to climb.
Westerham won the match 4/0 and have earned their place in the Inter County finals, which will be held at Finchley GC. Middlesex.
Where their semi final opponents, will be Surrey's Wildwood. This is Wildwood's rookie year. We wish them very good luck, but hope Kent win the match.
I would like to thank, Hazel, Jo, Marilyn and Cheryl Power, firstly for being there, secondly for Refereeing and Starting and thirdly for there continued support of the Pearson Trophy, Elaine and myself. It's much appreciated.
I would also like to commend Ashford Golf Club for their enthusiasm, help and commitment to making the day run very smoothly.
Our Centenary starts next season, we will be playing the Finals at Knole Park on Thursday 23rd June 2011 and the Inter-County Finals will be at Hartsbourne GC, Hertfordshire on Monday 18th July 2011.
Needless to say there are plans afoot, to make the 100 years memorable.
